Continuing its tirade of political censorship, Facebook just BANNED the author of a new book that criticizes Obama

Facebook’s war against conservatives and those who expose the radical left is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon; as a matter of fact, if anything, the social media giant’s hostility towards those on the right is getting worse with each passing day.

Matt Margolis is a conservative author who has written multiple books exposing the scandalous behavior of former president Barack Obama, including The Worse President in History, which details the failures of Obama’s administration, and most recently, The Scandalous Presidency of Barack Obama. Just as millions of other authors do, Margolis traditionally uses social media sites such as Facebook to promote his work. This can be very effective, especially considering how easy Facebook makes it to select specific target audiences and intended demographics. However, because Matt Margolis is a conservative, Facebook decided they would shut him up by simply banning him from the platform for six days without any explanation whatsoever.

To make matters worse, Margolis paid for his book advertisement to be “boosted” using Facebook’s advertising program, and while Mark Zuckerberg and his liberal friends had no problem taking his hard-earned money, they apparently had no issues with banning him immediately after Margolis posted his ad to several groups, either.

Margolis attempted to appeal the ban, but was unsuccessful.

“I hate to think I’m being censored, and hope that’s not the case,” Margolis said in an interview with PJ Media, “but Facebook’s reputation makes that possibility hard to ignore. We’re seeing companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Google actively censoring conservative ideas on their platforms. It is hardly far-fetched that big-tech censorship wouldn’t include a book that doesn’t fit the narrative they support.”

Margolis went on to say that he fears that there is now a concerted effort to silence those who consider themselves to be more conservative than liberal. “I fear this is only the beginning,” he explained. “Far-left trolls often posted bogus reviews of my last book on Amazon, calling it racist. Companies like Facebook/Twitter/Google are certainly likely to take bogus accusations of racism to justify their censorship.” (Related: Facebook censors Natural News from users who want it, but won’t allow you to block Mark Zuckerberg’s feed.)

It appears as though Mr. Margolis believes that sites like Facebook, Twitter and Google silence conservative voices so often largely because of liberal Internet trolls that intentionally seek out right-leaning content (like the book Margolis recently published) and label it as “racist,” “hateful” or “bigoted.” While this is certainly true in a significant number of cases, there is also a strong case to be made that the employees at Facebook, Twitter and Google hold anti-conservative biases themselves. In this way, not only do they respond to complaints by liberal trolls and use them as justification for censoring conservatives, but in many cases, they silence those on the right based on their own political beliefs and philosophies.

To give just one example, back in May of 2016, Fox News reported that several unnamed former Facebook contractors had come forward and revealed that the social media giant often suppresses news stories that are of interest to conservative users. In addition, these former employees explained that they were instructed to “inject” certain topics into Facebook’s trending list, even if they weren’t popular stories or necessarily relevant. One conservative contractor in particular said that he’d often come into work and see that “CPAC or Mitt Romney or Glenn Beck or popular conservative topics wouldn’t be trending” either because the news curators didn’t recognize these news topics or because they held personal anti-conservative biases. Facebook is most definitely at war with not only conservative Americans, but also free speech and the First Amendment. Sadly, it doesn’t appear that the social media giant will be surrendering any time soon, a sign that this war will likely continue to rage on for years to come.
